<p><img class="alignright" title="twin-arches-results" src="../wp-content/uploads/2010/06/twin-arches-results.png" alt="penang botanic garden" width="192" height="232" />Here are the results of the public opinion survey on the <a href="http://penangweb.com/most-penangites-against-the-tilting-twin-arches-at-penang-botanic-gardens/">twin arches development project</a> that was held on the Malaysia Ministry of Tourism&#8217;s website:</p>
<p><strong><em>Should the twin arches at Penang Botanic Garden be retained?</em></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Yes (4981) &#8211; 34%</li>
<li>No (9619) &#8211; 66%</li>

<h2>The Results</h2>
<p>It&#8217;s no surprise that the poll resulted in a vote not to retain the dangerously tilting eyesores (<a href="http://penangweb.com/photos-of-the-penang-botanic-gardens-tilting-twin-arches/">photos</a>).</p>
<p><span id="more-1063"></span>However, what is certainly intriguing about the results, is the 4,981 (yes) votes that apparently want to keep these <a href="http://anilnetto.com/accountability/penang-botanic-garden-arch-leans-further/"><em>Leaning Arches of Penang</em></a>. Who are they?</p>
<p>It&#8217;ll be interesting to see what happens next.</p>
